If you have no other choice, a way to lower your Mac (for better posture). I needed to lower the monitor on my 2014 iMac 21.5, because of some back problems, and an inability to lower the desk on which my computer was resting, or raise my chair any higher. This was the only option.. and I did it VERY carefully, with some help from my very talented son, Ben. This lowered my iMac 21.5" about 2-3/4" the most you can do, by modifying the base, and still allow free tilting of the monitor.

IF YOU ARE NOT SURE YOU WANT TO DO THIS... DON'T !

Notice that the bottom edge of the MODIFIED monitor almost touches the base.
There should be a gap large enough to allow the bottom edge
of the monitor to clear the base when the monitor tilts fully downward.
